“Everybody Can be Great, because Anybody Can Serve”

January 9, 2012

“Everybody can be great, because anybody can serve. You don’t have to have a college degree to serve. You don’t have to make your subject and your verb agree to serve. You don’t have to know the second theory of thermo-dynamics to serve. You only need a heart full of grace. A soul generated by love.” Martin Luther King Jr.

Volunteer Marin is hosting 3 special volunteer events to honor the memory of Dr. King. We are excited about getting to work with anyone in the community who is motivated to serve with us. January 16th the Volunteer Marin team is serving with the North Bay Conservation Corp in the Mattie and Clarence Boatman Community Garden where volunteers will be, weeding, mulching, planting, pruning fruit trees and adding compost to garden beds. We will also be working in the Marin City marsh cleaning up litter. Later in the day we will be working with Marin Food Bank to help feed thousands of Marin residents by stocking and sorting food. Join us to actualize Dr. King’s vision of a community joined together to move mountains. We hope to see you there!
